This was by far my most favourite lab. We had been preparing for this for a long time and it took me 6 hourse to complete. Most people used that flowers that we had made previously but I decided to use a completely different theme: Star Wars. We made marshmallow fondant which was much better than the bought stuff but because of the base colour on my cake, I had to buy black fondant.

Fondant Flowers
This lab went on for multiple classes and we learned how to do many different kinds of flowers. This was in preparation for fondant cakes that we were going to do later.
Cake Pops
For our next recipe we made cake pops!! I was really excited to male these because I had seen them so much because of their new popularity. We made regualr white cake and buttercream icing to hold it together once we crumbled it. then we melted candy melts and dipped the cake balls into it and shook off the excess. We then let it cool and added the candies that served at facial features.
Carrot Cake and Buttercream Icing
Our next recipe was carrot cake and buttercram icing that we had already made previously. We baked the carrot cake in egg shaped pans and then used teh icing techniques we had learned to decorate them any way we liked.
Pulla Bread
This was a very different kind of bread that we made. It was a recipe that our teachers had pulled out of the Finnish cook books. I have tried many different kinds of bread but this is by far one of my favourites. It has a different taste but that adds to the uniqueness of it. As you can see, we braided it, which is the traditional was to do it.
Royal Icing Flowers
Using a royal icing recipe we learned to make in class. We were given the difficult task of make flowers with the icing using different tips. I chose to make a rose which didn't turn out that bad.
Cherry Pie Cake Stack
This recipe was really good. We used a white sponge cake recipe with buttercream icing, cherry pie filling and whiped cream that we made. To decorate it we used a regular chocolate sauce. It tasted incredible but was a little on the sweet side. I would definetly make this recipe again!
